Lego old or new?

Do you remember this man? It is Ole Christiansen.

He was the founder of Lego, although he started off by making wooden toys.

Lego is one of my favourite toys to play with. 

Lego is an old toy that was made in 1932 but it is still played with today. 

Can you think of a toy that is old but we still play with it even today?

Some animals have particular features on their body to help them adapt to their habitat. A habitat is the environment an animal lives in. It is the animal's home.

Cooking up a storm

Old and new toys

In the Autumn term we took a trip to the Museum of Childhood (toy museum).

We saw lots of old toys from the past. Have a look at the picture, and describe which toy is old and which toy is new. How do you know?


Did you know, old teddies were stuffed with wood wool which would give them a crunchy feel when they were squeezed! What do new teddies feel like?

The magic ketchup experiment

11. Fill the bottle up with water

22.  Add ketchup to the bottle

33.  If the ketchup float, then screw the cap on and squeeze the sides of the bottle hard.

44.  If the ketchup sinks, add 3 tablespoons of salt to the bottle and shake.

The magic ketchup should sink when you squeeze the bottle and float when you release it.

Can you get the ketchup in the middle of the bottle?
