We have been thinking about making the same number lots of different ways. I have made the number 8. Have a look....

 I have 4 green cubes and 4 red cubes. My number sentence would be 

4 + 4 = 8

I have changed the number of red and green cubes. Can you talk to a grown up about using the part part whole to decide how many would be in each part.

Read Write Inc phonic sounds

At De Beauvoir, we use Read Write Inc to learn our sounds and letters. The children in Year 1 have been working really hard to learn their phonics. Try watching this video to learn about saying pure sounds and listening to the different sounds that your child is learning in Year 1. 

When doing reading or writing at home, remind your child to use their phonics to support them.
