Science - similar and different flowering plants

For Science today, we are continuing looking at plants.
How many parts of a plant can you remember? Have a go below.


This tulip is different to the sunflower we looked at last week. Instead of a seed, it has a bulb. The orange arrow is pointing to the bulb that the tulip grows from.


Today we are learning to look at similarities and differences between different flowering plants.
Let's find out what a flowering plant is first by watching the video:


Now have a go at sorting these plants into the right categories:


For the next activity, you will need to find yourself two-three different flowers. These could be from your garden, the park or a shop. Look closely at them and try to answer the questions:


Now that you have had a closer look, can you take the flowers apart gently with your fingers and group together the parts of the plant that are the same. Try using the key words on the side to label your plant parts!
