2. Which book has your favourite front cover?
3. What makes a brilliant front cover?

Art - Andy Goldworthy inspired art work

In art today we've been learning all about the artist Andy Goldsworthy.
He is a sculptor and photographer who is inspired by nature and land. He produces site-specific pieces often using leaves or rocks such as these art works;

Looking at these two art works.
What do you see when you look at them?
What do you think about them?
What do you wonder about them?
This BBC Bitesize video explains how Andy Goldsworthy makes his artworks; Click Here.
Can you make your own Andy Goldsworthy inspired artwork?
At school the Year 1 and 2 bubble have been collecting leaves, sticks and stones to make their own artworks in the playground.
Perhaps you could make a leaf circle in your local park next time you visit.
We'd love to see photos of any artwork that you do make. If you e-mail them to; debeauvoirprimaryschool@gmail.com

Art - Drawing trees

Today, continuing our learning on plants and trees, we're going to be drawing trees. In school, we're using charcoal to draw our trees but if you don't have any charcoal at home, chalk or a writing pencil would also work well to draw trees with.
This video shows one way of drawing trees;
Now have a go at drawing your own trees;
For an EXTRA challenge you could have a go at making bark rubbing of different trees;
We'd love to see your pictures of trees. If you e-mail them to;

Art

Good Morning Year 1. 🌞

Last week, Miss Ali created some art work work with a few children. We followed this tutorial on youtube to help us:
It made me miss you all so very much as Sonic always reminds me of Year 1 💙

Miss Ali found the drawing a bit tricky (you know how she is with her drawing!), but she was tenacious and did not give up. In fact, she felt very inspired by another child's art work. Look how much detail they have put in!

Could you have a go at following the video?
Please send a photo to me on: debeauvoirprimaryschool@gmail.com and I will share your work on the blog.😊
